The Ricky Davis Legacy Foundation is a non-profit organization established
and founded by NBA Star Ricky Davis. Ricky is a 13 year veteran of the famed and skilled world of NBA Sports. His span with several NBA teams has allowed him to give back to many communities across the world, participating in charitable events, or providing contributions to people, foundations, and organizations. The focus over the years was to ensure that resources and opportunities were available for under privileged youth who live in the inner city, in areas he was playing. As a player it was always important to give back to kids and families in those communities. Davis has said "Just growing up in the neighborhoods, being unfortunate and not being able to see certain stuff, see certain people until you finally get to college, it's a great feeling to finally be able to give back to people in communities I touch, feed them, and make them happy!". Today, The Ricky Davis Legacy Foundation is now better then ever; Establishing roots in the Greater Houston areas and Minneapolis areas, the goal is to give back and be apart of a community that strives for greatness within their children and families. The passion and dedication he had on the court, has now shifted to what his heart always hoped for after the NBA life. The opportunity to build lasting relationships and strengthen families. In the last five years, during his basketball career with the BIG 3 as a Captain for the Ghost Ballers Team. The foundation began the Dribble out Hunger Campaign. Geared towards providing essentials to homeless and disadvantaged communities. In 2019, the Legacy Health Fairs were born, with partnerships with YMCA, Ronald McDonalds Care Mobiles, and many more. In 2020, the foundation partnered with Tony Draper of Suave House Records, to distribute PPE equipment, and major food distributions with major influencers like Trey songs, Dr. Dre and many others around the united states. Ultimately, the goals of TRDLF is to open the RD Legacy Center. This place will be a safe place for kids and families to locate resources and have a place of hope. The coming fundraisers and sponsorship will help to make this life long dream come true. The proceeds raised will contribute to the building and development of this center. Through this center we will create healthy, innovative, and educational programs for the youth in the Pearland and extending communities. |
